Christine Lawn (born August 24th, 1972) is a New Zealand Para Equestrian rider who also earlier in life was a jockey. After a face fall in 2002 where she suffered a serious spinal injury Christine worked hard to regain some movement in her legs but not quite enough to be able to get through life without a wheelchair. In 2004 Christine had a child and in 2006 released her autobiography/biography titled "One Stroppy Jockey" that was co written with author Sandy McKay. Christine also started riding horses again soon after her spinal injury and is currently competing in para equestrian and also able bodied events. In December 2009 Christine was selected for the New Zealand team to compete in the Australian Saddleworld CPEDI3* competition and qualified for her Certificate of Capabilities which means she can compete at the World Equestrian Games to be held in Kentucky 2010 and other international events.
