La Dispute is a five piece band from Grand Rapids, Michigan. They consist of vocalist Jordan Dreyer, bassist Adam Vass, guitarists Chad Sterenberg and Kevin Whittemore, and drummer Brad Vanderlugt. While considered post-hardcore their music contains elements of blues, screamo, soul, and progressive rock[1]. They are currently signed to indie label No Sleep Records and have released an ep, Vancouver, and a full length record, Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair. They also have a series of experimental mini disc releases known as Here, Hear. They recently released Here, Hear III. The band has also released an untitled 7-inch[2]. All their releases can be downloaded from their Band Camp site in exchange for a donation to the Well House Community Living of Grand Rapids, a non-profit outreach program in Grand Rapids that provides emergency shelter and permanent housing for displaced and homeless families[3]. Starting in April they will embark on a tour with Alexisonfire, Trash Talk, and Therefore I Am[4]. In the past they have toured with Thursday. During some of Thursdays performances on this tour Jordan would join the band onstage during Paris in Flames to sing a verse[5].
