Sorry it has taken so long for me to notice you asked me a question. I haven't thought of an orderly mechanism to prevent double work. I assume queries shouldn't take so long to answer that a tagging system would be required.

Glad to seewhat are doing on this. Have you checked out what there is about him in the British Biographical Index? I have an original Rees's Cyclopaedia (UK printing) and I am sure there is a biography of him there. Hi, Can you please have a look at Amos Urban Shirk, and if possible check out the New Yorker reference. It reads to me very much like a Nihilartikel. There are too many insubstantiated statements. All the 26 Google hits bar two go back this this WP piece, which has made me suspicious. The two which do not leads to a book Shirk wrote on food marketing. Many thanks.
