Exercise 1

[edit]

Create a Wikipedia account, create a user page, and sign up on the list of students on the course page, and add category HIM5IHC to your categories list

Exercise 2

[edit]

Critically evaluate an existing Wikipedia article related to the class, and leave suggestions for improving it on the article's discussion page.

Critically evaluated European Institute for Health Records page

Research and list 3–5 articles on your Wikipedia user page that you will consider working on as your main project.

Possible Wikipedia Pages:

European Institute for Health Records (final)

Exercise 3

[edit]

Add 1–2 sentences of new information, backed up with a citation to an appropriate source, to a Wikipedia article related to the class

Added 2 sentences to a wikipedia article European Institute for Health Records for week 4 exercise activity. Provided some basic information on Q-REC.

Exercise 4

[edit]

Select an article to work on, removing the rest from your user page. Compile a bibliography of relevant research and post it to the talk page of the article you are working on. Begin reading the sources.

I've decided to chose European Institute for Health Records as my article to work on. Here are some resources I'll be researching with.

http://www.eurorec.org/rd/pastproject_q-rec.cfm

http://www.eurorec.org/rd/pastproject_ride.cfm

http://www.eurorec.org/RD/survey/index.cfm

http://www.eurorec.org/RD/ehr_implement.cfm

Currently there is no literature, articles, studies or research regarding the organisation and its projects. All the resources are directly from the organisation site. However, there will be ongoing research to ensure the best resources are used.

Exercise 5

[edit]

If you are starting a new article, write a 3–4 paragraph summary version of your article (with citations) in your Wikipedia sandbox. If you are improving an existing article, write a summary version reflecting the content the article will have after it's been improved, and post this along with a brief description of your plans on the article's talk page. Begin working with classmates to polish your short starter article and fix any major transgressions of Wikipedia norms. Continue research in preparation for expanding your article.

This article has provided a good basic introduction to the European Institute for Health Records. However, this wikipedia page may be more beneficial if it provides more detailed information on its objectives and the related european projects. For my assignment I plan to provide more information on the various projects conducted by the European Institute of Health Records. In the wikipedia page, it mentions various projects being conducted without any information. I believe by providing more information on these projects , I can help the article provide a better understanding for those researching about the organisation role. The objectives within this article are brief but concise, more research needs to be done to decide whether or not they need anymore information.
