PETER J.LEAHY has been widely sought after as a financial markets consultant since July 1987 since when he started in this area. He has developed a reputation for providing the highest quality in consultancy and training for the financial services industry. Peter specialises in the fixed income and fixed income related capital markets, including derivatives, repo and swaps.

Peter is currently (since September 2008) a consultant to Hoare Capital Markets Ltd who are a small intermediary firm specialising in Credit and Securitised products. Earlier roles included that of Senior Vice President at Bear Stearns in London where he was responsible for developing and selling Asset Backed and Derivatives products. He has worked in the financial markets for more than twenty-five years and advises various institutions at the highest level on matters concerning the international capital markets. His extensive experience includes senior fixed income markets positions at J.P. Morgan, Kleinwort Benson as well as at Bear Stearns.

Peter also has considerable experience as an expert witness, including a recent high profile bond sales professional negligence case involving complex loan notes and their valuation. Peter was also instrumental in the conclusion of the largest case involving a CDO (Collateralised Debt Obligation) in recent years.

Peter has trained courses in about twenty countries on topics including Swaps, Credit Derivatives, Securitisation and Structured Products. Peter has presented many public training programmes on Credit Derivatives and on Securitisation. He has been invited to lecture on specialist programmes at a number of Universities, including for example the recent UCL Financial Risk program.

Banks that have used Peter’s services include Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, HSBC, Citigroup, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase and the Bank of England.
