My name is Ivar Soares Urdalen (born November 11, 1988) and I started with Wikipedia in 2014. I graduated in 2015 with a MSc degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Previously I worked as a consulting engineer that designed water and wastewater treatment plants. I currently work at a water and wastewater treatment supplier called Aqua Unique in Drammen, Norway.
My biggest passion is water and anything related with water. How it flows, how it gets polluted, how we can treat it, how it gets back in to the natural cycle after we use it and so on. My goal for Wikipedia is to contribute to water related articles, such as articles for water treatment or wastewater treatment.
My other big interest is languages. I love to dive into new cultures and travel, and therefore it is essential to speak the local language to understand the local situation and people. I currently speak Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish (in addition to my native Norwegian and English). I am currently on the road to learn Standard Mandarin (Chinese), and hopefully will be able to maintain some conversation with Civil and Environmental Engineers in China.
