4DS (Four Dimensional Storage) is company based in Fremont California that is focuses on the development of ReRAM technology. The company claims significant advances in Non-Volatile Solid State Memory and has partnered with various research groups to continue the companies growth.
History
[edit]4DS was founded in 2007 by Australian based company 4D-S Pty, Ltd. 4DS has had success with ReRAM by using patented technology created by their development team.[1]
Partnerships
[edit]- 2011 - Partnered with SEMATECH to build a full transistor-memory [2]
- 2011 - Partnered with Data Storage Institute(DSI) to develop 16Kbit ReRAM prototype with memory controller [3]
Technology
[edit]The ReRAM under development from 4DS is expected to use 2,000 times less energy than flash and is up to 1,000 times faster.
MOHJO™ (Metal Oxide Hetero Junction Operation) is a non-volatile memory where the storage cell can have a low resistance or a high resistance. Information is stored in the form of material resistance, which can be changed by an applied voltage.[4]
