Seán Kyne is a Galway County Councillor and a candidate for the Galway West constituency in the 2011 General Election.
A member of the Fine Gael party, he was elected to Galway County Council on his first attempt in the 2004 Local Elections and was subsequently re-elected in 2009.
Seán is from Moycullen in Connemara, just outside Galway City and is from a farming background. He attended St. Mary's College in Galway City before attaining a Primary Degree and a Masters Degree in Agricultural Science at University College Dublin (UCD).
He works as an agri-environmental consultant under the Rural Environmental Protection Scheme or REPS. He served on the Board of Directors of the Galway Harbour Company representing Galway County Council from 2006 - 2009. He is currently on the Galway Rural Development Action Committee.
