International League of Conservation Writers is a forum of writers, cartoonists, poets, screenwriters, etc. world-wide who are writing and working to promote wilderness, nature, conservation and other means of protecting and restoring the natural areas, habitats, flora and fauna of the planet. ILCW's origins come from two significant gatherings: the 8th World Wilderness Congress in Anchorage, Alaska (2004) and the WILD9 congress held in Merida, Mexico (2009). ILCW has grown out of the long history of global conservation and work of The WILD Foundation.
