I use the same username on other sites but there is at least one Pastychomper out there that isn't me.

Background, interests, motivations

Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I think Mormon was a decent bloke but don't specifically follow him.
Studied Biochemistry at the University of Bristol.
Work(ed) in pharmacokinetics, chromatography, mass spectrometry and nuclear decommissioning, with some organic farming on the side.
Interested in environmental biology, horses, mountain walking and history. Have been seen swinging in woodland.
Linux user and hobby programmer who started out on one of Uncle Clive's machines.
Usually like books/films with the word "star" in the title, but characters with pointy hats are good too.
