Jerry Berman is the current President & Chairman of the Advisory Committee to the Congressional Internet Caucus (ICAC), an organization of NGOs, public interest groups, trade associations, non-profits, and corporations that work to educate lawmakers about Internet-related policy issues. [1] [2] He is also the founder and president of the Internet Education Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization that supports the work of the ICAC. Berman testifies regularly before Congress on Internet policy.
Education and Career
[edit]Berman received his BA, MA, and LLB at the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with honors. While at Berkeley, Berman served as the editor of the California Law Review at Boalt Law School. [3] Berman is the co-founder of the Center for Democracy and Technology. Prior to founding CDT, Berman was a Director of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Chief Legislative Counsel at the ACLU, founding its Projects on Privacy and Information Technology. [4]
