Edward Mahon , (1 June 1862 – 18 June 1937), an Anglo-Irish land developer, promoter, and philanthropist.[1]He was active in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, where he founded a city named after Castlegar in County Galway,[2] and in the Greater Vancouver area, especially in North Vancouver, where his legacy of linked parks and greenways persists as the ‘Green Necklace’.[3]
