Question from Averykelly on User:Averykelly (23:08, 5 June 2024)
Hi how do I add a image --Averykelly (talk) 23:08, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Averykelly! Welcome to Wikipedia! So, there are a few things you have to do in order to add an image to a page on Wikipedia. If the image doesn't already exist as a file on the project (it's neither uploaded to the English Wikipedia locally nor uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons so it can be used globally), you will need to upload the image first. Wikipedia has a guide page that's located here that will assist you. When reading through the page, you'll notice right away that much of the information and details are in relation to copyright rules and policies. You must make sure that any and all images you upload are in compliance of Wikipedia's policy on copyrights. You cannot violate copyright policies; doing so is considered a serious offense, so please please ask for help in cases where you're not sure if the image is in compliance of policy or not. After you've either uploaded or located the image you wish to add to another page, this Wikipedia help page on images will show you exactly what to do in order to display that image. Please let me know if you run into any more questions, and I'll be happy to answer them and help. :-) Best - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:02, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
Question from NewLeaves (13:37, 6 June 2024)
Hi Oshwa, I was wondering how to edit the title of a page? --NewLeaves (talk) 13:37, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi NewLeaves! Welcome to Wikipedia! Editing the title of the page cannot be done on-the-fly like most new users believe. You have to move the page to a new title, which effectively renames it. Please let me know if you have any more questions, and I'll be happy to answer them and help you further. ;-) Best regards - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 15:43, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
I´ve made an ANI report, but the attacks continue
Hello, hope you are doing well. Yesterday I`ve reported editor Sideshow Bob 1 on WP:ANI 2 regarding their involment on Constatine Bodin page, which includes edit warring and not participating on talk page, but now I wish to expand my report by including WP:aspersions and WP:personal attacks, Sideshow Bob directly accused me on ANI report that I am "guy with agenda", Serbian ultranationalist etc. 3, 4 and also stating false information about sources on mentioned page, which is absolutely not true. I do not wish that this report remains wp:stale especially with such behavoiur, can you please do something about it? Thank you. Theonewithreason (talk) 22:15, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Theonewithreason! I'm currently at the office, but I'll be home and available to look at the ANI discussion here soon. Stand by... :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:52, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

Question from PamdemiaCientifica (10:28, 7 June 2024)
Hi! Thank you very much for the opportunity of writing to an expert. I was wondering if the new draft was finally submitted for revision (I think it was, but I have submitted it again and I'm not sure of the status now). Can you access to it? Thank you very much! --PamdemiaCientifica (talk) 10:28, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi PamdemiaCientifica! Welcome to Wikipedia! I appreciate the kind words, and I'm happy to be here to help! :-) I see your draft here. If you look at the templates at the top of that page, you'll see that you've (obviously) submitted your draft for re-review. If you also turn your attention to the "submission declined" template (which is also located at the top of the draft page), you'll see the following near the bottom-left corner: "Declined by Spinster300 2 months ago." This means that it has not yet been re-evaluated by a member of the AFC team. You'll usually be notified once the review has been carried out; alternatively, you can reach out to the AFC user who originally evaluated your submission to see if they're up to looking at it again for you... Please let me know if I can assist you with anything else, and I'll be happy to do so. :-) Best - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 14:46, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
Question from O2Q357Ys on Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Submission wizard (14:27, 7 June 2024)
Hi. I edited an article called "Easterhouse Festival Society" to update information and references and it has not been saved, can I recover? It has only saved previous versions and all my work has therefore been lost --O2Q357Ys (talk) 14:27, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi O2Q357Ys! Welcome to Wikipedia! I believe the draft page that you're looking for is here. It looks like the wizard did publish a draft page for you; it's possible that you probably just didn't see the success notice after submitting it. :-) Let me know if this is not what you're looking for, and I can try and take a deeper look for you. Otherwise, you're all set! :-) Best - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 14:49, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
Question from JimmyCarterLover1 (01:32, 8 June 2024)
I saw this draft mocking Wikipedia how do I request speedy deletion on this page called Draft:What the sigma --JimmyCarterLover1 (talk) 01:32, 8 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi JimmyCarterLover1! Welcome to Wikipedia! I went ahead and deleted that draft page for you, but to answer your question: you'll want to read through and understand Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion page. This page will provide a list all of the situations where speedy deletion of an article has been approved by community consensus to be used. Basically, you'll modify the page or article you wish to tag for speedy deletion review, and add the corresponding template (Example:
Db-vandalism
for pages that meet speedy deletion criterion G3) to the very top of the page text, then save your changes. You'll ideally want to notify the page creator of the deletion tagging as well; the page I linked you to will provide you with everything you need. Please let me know if I can help you with anything else or answer any more questions, and I'll be happy to help! :-) Best - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:49, 8 June 2024 (UTC)

Question from A person of sorts (02:22, 13 June 2024)
Hi. So, I worked on this one article (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Matlama_FC). It was deemed a stub, but I don't know when there is enough information for it to not be a stub. Can you help me out in understanding? --A person of sorts (talk) 02:22, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi A person of sorts! Welcome to Wikipedia! See this page for more information about how a page is classified as a "stub". Basically, when enough information is added to the page where it's deemed to provide encyclopedic coverage of a subject, it'll be rated higher. Please let me know if you have any more questions, and I'll be happy to answer them and help you. :-) Best - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:28, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
Question from Shelarkiran001 (09:45, 15 June 2024)
I have just written my first article on my biography I published it in English and in Marathi too but I am not able to upload photos & where can I see or read my articles --Shelarkiran001 (talk) 09:45, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Shelarkiran001! Welcome to Wikipedia! The article you created will very much likely end up being deleted (if it hasn't been already). Creating autobiographies is a strongly discouraged activity and for many reasons (one of which being that it makes it nearly impossible for you to add content that's written with a neutral point of view). I'd say that out of 100 autobiographies that users try to create about themselves on Wikipedia, 100 of them end up deleted. Don't waste your time; contribute in areas that interest you, become proficient with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and expand your experience from there.
- To answer your question: I recommend that you use the upload wizard to contribute images. Take any warnings the wizard gives you and treat them seriously (especially in regards to following copyright policies). Violating copyright policies on Wikipedia is a very serious offense. Should you do it more than once, your account will without-a-doubt be blocked for this. Good luck! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 03:45, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
Question from Polarays (03:37, 19 June 2024)
Hello! I was editing wikipedia on ios mobile today and one of the suggested edits on it was for adding an image of a person onto a list(say, if it was a list of people with first name Albert then suggested edit was to add a photo of someone on that list). The thing is, no one elses photo was on the list so i wasnt sure if adding an image of just person but not the others was ok. Suggested edits shows sugestions based on the wikis of different languages so I assume its okay but i just wanted to be sure. Is it okay to add the image in this scenario? --Polarays (talk) 03:37, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Polarays! When you say, "list of people", are you talking about a disambiguation page? If so, Wikipedia's manual of style (in particular, this section) discourages the addition of images onto disambiguation pages. Those are supposed to simply list articles that are related under a common name or term, nothing more. If it's a list page (an article that starts with "List of...", e.g. List of tallest buildings), then adding an image to it is fine. You don't have to suddenly have images for every person on the list page; it's not an "all or none" scenario where you either must have images of every item in the list or have none at all. You don't have to do everything; remember that more changes and images can always be added later. That's what this project is about. ;-) Please let me know if I didn't answer your question or refer to the correct article type, and I'll be happy to help you further. :-) Best - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 03:56, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
Question from Annuayushsingh (10:14, 20 June 2024)
I want to work for wikipedia. Can I do this? --Annuayushsingh (talk) 10:14, 20 June 2024 (UTC)

Question from Alifeofriley (12:53, 20 June 2024)
Hello Oshwah, I've just signed up to add an article to Wikipedia and wanted to ask you a quick question. I noticed that there was an article on a Chemical process called Riley Oxidation, which is named after my grandfather. I realise that it's discouraged from writing articles relating to yourself, so I declared that was what I wanted to do and have then tried to write a short biographical article on him from some old newspaper cuttings that I have and an entry from a 1970s "Who's Who". I've done by best to find some online references, but there aren't many. I've just submitted it for review, but wanted to ask your advice on whether I've done the right thing with this, and what I can do to help it to be accepted for publication. Thank you for any advice you might have. --Alifeofriley (talk) 12:53, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
Question from EmmaKendrickCox (08:41, 21 June 2024)
Hi there -- I want to create a wikipedia page - how do I do that? --EmmaKendrickCox (talk) 08:41, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi EmmaKendrickCox! Welcome to Wikipedia! To get started with creating a new article, I recommend using this page or this page to do it. They'll help you avoid common "pitfalls" that new users will typically fall into regarding article creation. Please let me know if you have any more questions, and I'll be happy to help! ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:27, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
Edit filters and your username
Greetings. I realized your username appears right beside several wp:edit filters, including the ones I seem to have triggered. Just curious, what does your username have to do with some of those filters? When did they started?102.159.182.25 (talk) 20:57, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- After realizing your most recent edits, I understand the situation. Although I am still patiently waiting for response, please, take your time, don't rush, and, most importantly, take care of yourself.102.158.130.25 (talk) 11:18, 4 July 2024 (UTC)Same user.
- Hi there! The name of the edit filters with my username on them are edit filters that I created and actively maintain. My username is present to make it easy for anyone to know who the creator and maintainer of the edit filter is so that they can reach out to me if the need is warranted. I created and maintain three filters: filter 51, filter 53, and filter 54. They're very extensive in detecting words or phrases that are on new accounts that get created (that's filter #51's job), or content that's added to articles (filter #53 is in charge of that). While they're very extensive, they're not 100% perfect; hits that are flagged and logged by them does not mean that the username or edit is LTA abuse. If you made a legitimate edit to an article or page and if the edit filter triggered it as a hit, just ignore it. Those edit filters. For example, adding the word "fuck" to an article will trigger the filter. However, that word (given the correct context) is completely legitimate to add to an article. However, it's a word that can obviously be used for abuse or harassment (as you undoubtedly know). This is why these filters only log; they do not block the action from taking place or warn the user.
- If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know. I'll be happy to answer them and assist you in any way. Thank you for the well wishes. ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:23, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
New account disruptive edits
Hello Oswah hope you are well, this new account 5 has been warned on their talk page by me and other editor for their disruptive edits, but they continue to repeat that on several pages, removing sourced materials, replacing them with some internet site, that includes Mila Jovovich page, Crnojevic noble family page, Petrovic Njegos dynasty page etc.6,7 8, 9,10 also they continue with edit warring on Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd page- something that obviously last for several months now 11,12, 13, 14, 15 etc. Can you please do something about it? Thank you. Theonewithreason (talk) 07:37, 24 June 2024 (UTC)

- Thank you. Theonewithreason (talk) 07:35, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- Theonewithreason - The account hasn't edited since July 1st (five days ago). I'm going to hold off on cracking the admin whip for now, but if the user resumes editing and does so disruptively, let me know and I'll happily step in and put the kibosh to it. ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:04, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- I will do that thanks, I also have some suspicions about sock puppetry regarding this account, since some pages were attacked by ip and one purpose accounts with similar behaviour 16,17, or the sleeper like this one 18, so I going to let you know. Theonewithreason (talk) 08:15, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- Theonewithreason - The interaction analyzer did raise a brow - especially with the Petrović-Njegoš dynasty article. I investigated, and while they're located in relatively close areas, their devices are all different, and nothing came back confirming any association. Erasmus2001 also hasn't edited since 2023, so there's no data for that account that I can pull. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 09:15, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
