History
[edit]Winter Day was created in the autumn of 2009. It's reason for creation were varied, but it mainly focused on a dread of the impending winter experienced by it's creators, Derek Munro and Kasia Kontkiewicz. Acknowledging that winters in New England and Poland, their respective native areas, were at the same time harsh and beautiful, the desire was to create a celebration of that beauty that is often obscured by a long winter. The decision to place the event in January was purely because this month seemed to be the longest and hardest of the winter, they desired to make it a bit more manageable.
The first Winter Day is set to be celebrated in January 2010.
