Olivier Maurel is 31, living in Paris (France) and actively curious about creativity, smart mob, cross-fertilisation, game theory, new media, web environment, open money and collective intelligence.
He is graduated from ESCP Europe, with a specialisation in finance.
As a consultant, he worked on innovation and the launch of new activities for consumer goods and media leaders. Following several assignments in the movie industry, television and telecommunication carriers, he was in charge of business development with vpod.tv, a web agency specializing in on-line video platforms. From 2008, he has been working with danone.communities: he is responsible for social innovation and community management in this social business incubator, designed by Pr.Yunus (inventor of Micro-finance) and the Danone Group.
Aside, he participated to "open innovation" movements: he attended to the World Social Forum fifth times, co-organized different barcamps and conferences such as TEDxParis and Digital4Change (up to 3000 attendees)... until the Burning Man Festival (gift economy in the desert) In 2011, he co-launched an alternative currency named “Lemna”, to facilitate kindness on social networks.

danone.communities is an incubator of social businesses, whose mission is to fund and develop social enterprises, built on innovative models, able to answer questions from malnutrition and poverty, at a large scale. This fund is supported by the Danone Group and Muhammad Yunus, founder of the Grameen Bank, and is backed by a fund managed by Crédit Agricole teams. This financial tool allows anyone wishing to give sense to their savings and invest in companies that create economic and social value, locally.
He is deeply interested in Social Innovation and Social Business issues. He participated 5 times to the World Social Forum : in Nairobi, Kenya (2007), from Paris, France (in 2008 & 2010 ; through a WineCamp and a debate about alternative currencies), in Belem, Brazil (2009), in Dakar, Senegal (2011). He was part of Burning Man 2010. He is Program Architect of TEDxParis, a derivative organization from TED to design and host local and independent events.
In october 2010, he launched officially the project Lemna : a social game, based on a social currency - Lemnas- to stimulate kindness, and structured as a social business.
