ARTICLE : [[1]]

Section I would like to add citations to: "Scope"

Communication studies integrates aspects of both social sciences and the humanities. Much of the work being done in the field is academic in nature. As a social science, the discipline often overlaps with sociology, psychology, anthropology, biology,[citation needed] political science, economics, and public policy, among others. From a humanities perspective, communication is concerned with rhetoric and persuasion (traditional graduate programs in communication studies trace their history to the rhetoricians of Ancient Greece).

OBSERVATIONS: These articles aren't controversial, which is something I noticed the wikipedia training mentioned to avoid if you are just starting out on wikipedia. I see many sections in both of these articles that need citations, which is why I thought they would be good passages to pick.

Hello Olivia! Your page is really interesting- two very engaging topics. I'm happy that you altered your area of focus and found a happy medium between two things that you love- the study of communication and food! Definitely good passages to choose as per our training. This source is helpful because it contains a huge list of universities that offer communications programs. When reading the description of these programs at the universities it is clear that they are academic in nature, and overlap with other disciplines and programs. [3]

Draft of New Passage

[edit]

Sentence that needs a citation: Much of the work being done in the field is academic in nature. As a social science, the discipline often overlaps with sociology, psychology, anthropology, biology,[citation needed] political science, economics, and public policy, among others.

Draft of new passage: Communications is a key field to include when studying other disciplines. Now, communication is carried out in more ways than ever before with the rise of new media. With so many new forms of communication, it's relevance in other disciplines only increases. Oliviabiermann (talk) 23:15, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
