Here follows an example of how to cite a PDF from withing a cite template. It's a bit tricky, see Template:PDFlink/doc#Use_in_citation_templates.

The National Clinic Violence Survey, conducted by the pro-choice Feminist Majority Foundation, reported in 2006 that severe violence affected 18.4% of abortion providers and facilities in the preceding year, 2005.[1] This figure is lower than at any time since 1994, which is consistent with statistics from the National Abortion Federation that show violence against abortion clinics or providers has steadily decreased since 2001[2]

Here's an example of how to use a JSTOR template within a Cite Journal template.[3]

During an October 13, 2010 debate between O'Donnell and Coons, held at the University of Delaware, and filmed by CNN, O'Donnell brought up her opposition to activist judges[4] and stated her objection to a recent court decision to ban the military from discharging homosexual service members who reveal their sexual orientation. She was asked the follow-on question, "What opinions, of late, that have come from our High [Supreme] Court, do you most object to?" In a reply that the media compared to a similar moment in a Sarah Palin interview in 2008, O'Donell was unable to name a single decision, but promised to post some to her web site after the debate. Coons, when asked the same question, said he disagreed with the Court's recent decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, which cited the First Amendment to strike down restrictions on corporate funding of independent political broadcasts just prior to candidate elections.[4][5]
