I'm a native Oregonian and I'm happy to call the beautiful Pacific Northwest my home. I've visited every state in the western half of the continental USA, and I've been to Alaska as well. I've also spent a few days in Canada, and one day I stepped across the border into Mexico to have a look around.
Update 2008: I went to Japan and spent the last week of March in Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo!
Update 2014: I visited Taiwan and greatly enjoyed 3 wonderful weeks of May in Taipei, Pinglin, Daxi Station, Yilan City, Hualien City, Taroko Gorge, Kenting, and Tainan! Taiwan was originally named Formosa by European explorers, which means beautiful island. It was paradise island for me and I can't think of any place more beautiful. The people, the food, and the scenery were all amazing. I also spent a few days in Hong Kong, China, where the harbor was beautiful and the city interesting, but it did not grab my heart like Taiwan did!
I'm fairly new at Wikipedia... I've used it to find information on various subjects for some time, but only recently decided to become a contributor. Nature and wildlife are my favorite topics, and those subjects are where you'll see most of my editorial and photographic contributions, but I'm interested in many areas of scientific study.
