Rocky Mountain Coastersis a wodden roller coaster manufacturer based in Idaho [1]. Their first project was an extensive renovation of the Tixas Giant at Six Flags Over Texas, rebuilding it has a hybrid rollercoaster with steel track on wooden supports.

Products[edit]

Rocky Mountain Coasters currently have two wooden coaster products. The topper track replace the top layers on traditional wooden track with a still beam. The Iron Horse system replace the whole wooden track with a steel beam. In the case of the later the trains use polyurethane wheels.


Future Projects[edit]

Rocky Mountain Coasters has indicated that they will open two new rides in 2013. One will be a totally new roller coaster, using topper track. There has been some initial rumors that this ride is heading for Silverwood themepark in Idaho. The second project will be a track replacement project, similar in nature to the Texas Giant.

In addition they have several small projects replacing sections of coaster track with the topper track system.

People involved[edit]

One of the main people behind Rocky Mountain Coasters is Alan Schilke, known as the primary design behind the first foruth dimension roller coaster X at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
