For now I am retired from a career as an analyst with an encore in social media and online marketing. That may change.
I am passionate about research and understanding the connections between things. Wikipedia is an incredible resource, and merits being a a Wonder of the World!
I am informally but intently studying the history of civilization with audio books, the internet, movies and documentaries with a particular interest in lost and found know-how and knowledge, and the causes and consequences of authoritarianism.
My Wikipedia technical skills here are limited to what I can replicate from previous content on a page. I hope to pick up more skills.

Languages
[edit]English. My language at home was American English.
Italian. My mother’s father was Italian and her siblings lived in Italy, so Italian was part of my upbringing. I lived several years in Italy as well.
Arabic. My father was an Arabist and we lived in Arabic speaking countries for years, so I have a rough understanding of conversational Arabic.
French. I spent four of my grade school years in French schools with a completely French curriculum.
Latin and Spanish. I studied these two languages in high school, enough to get by with.
Mandarin Chinese. At university I majored in Chinese and spent a year studying in Taiwan, and another in Beijing, China. I am fluent in conversational Chinese. I studied reading and writing, sufficient to do some basic research with Chinese characters.
