About Me

[edit]

I am an MFA candidate in poetry at BYU (graduation anticipated 2025). I also received a BA in English from BYU in 2022. I am a relatively novice poet, though my work has appeared in Hanging Loose and on poets.org. I am interested in poetry and language generally, but my specific interests focus on contemporary American poetry and linguistic philosophy.

Conflict of Interest Statement

[edit]

I am employed by the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University to edit Wikipedia pages, specifically pages regarding contemporary (20th century and beyond) American poetry. I work under the supervision of Rachel Helps (BYU). I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My father, Trenton Hickman, also works at BYU and publishes scholarship regarding 20th-century American literature and Latinx literature. Additionally, my cousin Jared Hickman works at Johns Hopkins University and publishes on American literature. I have taken workshops from or otherwise worked under Lance Larsen, Kimberly Johnson, Michael Lavers, and Paisley Rekdal.
