Upon passing by Huntsville Fire Station #1, the road intersects Memorial Parkway via access ramps and runs directly by the new mix retail development, Constellation, where it starts its journey through Downtown. Running between the Von Bron Center and Alabama's Coke Cola building plant, the road then intersects Monroe Street and runs one block to the north of Big Spring Park. At Spragins Avenue, the road begins carrying one-way traffic headed in the northeastern direction. At Jefferson Street, the road becomes East Clinton Avenue and located between Jefferson and Washington Streets is a parking garage available for public use. After intersecting Lincoln Street, the road starts running through Old Town providing access to many historical houses and homes.
