All of the Nguni linguistic world in Southern Africa is amazing and extraordinary! Just as the subfamily travels up and down the eastern coastal areas, and occasionally into the centre of South Africa/Lesotho, so I travel with the speakers, keen to find unrecorded and undocumented Nguni language data. There is no shortage!

There is so much to document, so little time. So few are trained, or have the time, or the desire. The harvest is great, and the labourers are few. Undocumented Nguni includes multiple non-standard varieties of Zulu and Xhosa and Ndebele and Phuthi, and also ?remnants of Bhaca, Cele, Lala, Hlubi. Take a number (the queue is short)!
