  • Briefly describe why you have chosen this article to evaluate. I chose this article because the shift from industrial age to the age of technology and information is really interesting to me.

The Information Age (also known as the Computer Age, Digital Age, or New Media Age) is a historic period in the 21st century characterized by the rapid shift from traditional industry that the Industrial Revolution brought through industrialization, to an economy based on information technology.[citation needed] The onset of the Information Age can be associated with the invention of the transistor, particularly the MOSFET (metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor), which revolutionized modern technology and became the fundamental building block of digital electronics in the information age.

The lead for the article is concise and clear but has no citation for the first sentence. The lead does not have a description of the major sections. Everything in the lead is in the article. The lead is overly detailed with no information about what the article is about and some added information that is talked about later in great detail later on .

The content of the article is very relevant to the topic. The content is up-to-date. There were a few spots were I found that a citation was needed.

The article reads neutral to me. All the claims seem neutral and just read as facts and numbers. I did not feel persuaded at all during the article.

Excluding one or two sections in the article that were missing citations, all the facts were backed up with citations. Most of the sources are within the last 20 years so I would put that as pretty current. The first couple of links I clicked did not work but then all the others one did.

Most of the discussion going on in the talk tab is about a merge with other articles of the same topics. Every talk post has information backing up the claim in the talk post.

Overall evaluation

The article has a lot of strong facts and numbers that are cited and concise. The article could use more pictures that help get the message across with all the facts. I would say that this article almost complete just missing some citing and more pictures
