IronFX, is a Cyprus-based financial online trading company that provides trading in foreign exchange and contracts for difference (CFD) on futures, shares, commodities and spot metals.[2][3][4]

IronFX was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus.[1][2]The company has 55 representative offices and client from 180 countries.

History

The company was founded in 2010 and by 2014 was composed of a number of subsidiaries that are governed by various local regulations.[5] In addition to its main trading business IronFX provides other financial services including banking, treasury, and automated risk management.[6]

In 2012, IronFX was approved and regulated under ASIC in Australia,[7]

Later in 2012 the company was warned by the Japanese financial regulator, the Financial Services Agency together with a number of other overseas companies for doing business in Japan without a license.[8]

In 2013, IronFX started a Sirix web-based platform for social trading services.[9] IronFX also gives research and market analysis services and reports.[10]

In 2014, IronFX opened office in South Africa and obtained a license from the FSB.[11] That same year it received the Variation of Permission from the FCA to reportedly enhance its authorization under the UK financial regulator,[12][13] and offered spread betting to residents of Britain and Republic of Ireland.[14]

In 2012, IronFX relocated its headquarters to Limassol, Cyprus and began opening offices around the world.[5] As of 2014, IronFX is operating 55 offices in South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, and Australia.[6]

Regulations

IronFX is authorized by CySEC and other government regulators through MiFID including FCA in the UK, it is a member of Eurex Exchange.[15][16]

Sponsorship

The company has used sport sponsorship to help promote its business. In 2014, IronFX became an official sponsor of FC Barcelona, a professional football club of the Spanish football league system,[17][18] after opening an office in Madrid.[1]

IronFX is a international foreign exchange trading company based in Cyprus. The company was founded in 2010. Markos Kashiouris is the chairman and chief executive officer.[2][3] The company complies with international regulatory standards and it is a member of Eurex Exchange. It is authorized by CySEC, the FCA, and is a European Union regulated and MiFID compliant.[4]

The company is partnered with the professional football club, FC Barcelona.[5][6][7]

According to the Wall Street Journal, IronFX is filing a confidential IPO in 2015, valued at $800 million.[8][9]
