From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi! On the internet, I go by the name Newhacker1746, because that was what I was a few years ago. My username is something that genuinely just "rolled off the fingers" many years ago. Some may know me from other sites, but that is all I will say on the subject. I am a passionate system administrator of Unix-like systems, and I use Linux daily as my main OS for one of my computers. My favorite family of operating systems is the BSD family, and I regularly use its descendants like NetBSD, FreeBSD, and macOS. I am most acquainted with the BSD family, in much the same way that they are my personal favorite OS family.

Who I am

[edit]
Lake bordering my school

I am an aspiring student that attempts to use technology in every way possible. As for contributions, I am quite lacking, but I will try to contribute significantly to the website I used the most many years ago.

What I do

[edit]

My goal is to improve articles in my area of expertise, technology. People know me for my great knowledge of technology, and I will use that to help out in Wikipedia. I have followed the English Wikipedia for many years, back when Google Search had its old look. I run and help run many websites, and I am generally a Unix-like sysop. I run, and have run, many MediaWiki installs of varying complexity, content, and extensions. They will not be mentioned, but as a result I have a great knowledge of MediaWiki semantics, syntax, and hierarchy. That will enable me to contribute to Wikipedia effectively and correctly.
