Jack Laidlaw Cunningham is an Australian expat, who is currently living in Porto. He is commonly known for his excessive and abusive use of alcohol. His ancestors were ranch-owners in the Australian state of New South Wales. They are often reffered to when speaking about the pro-slavery movement in Australia. His accomplishments include winning the gold medal at an international distilling competition. Scoundrels "Ruminate" rum took home the first place in one of the most prestigious award-competitions in the scene.

Early life

[edit]

Being born in Sydney, Jack initially lived in an apartment with his parents and his younger brother Max. In 2009 they moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, after his father accepted a Job offer in the country. He was enrolled into the BISJ, a private school in the city, where he would get to know Felix Gutschmidt. After getting to know each other, they started playing soccer together on the pitch of the American School of Jeddah, which was located right next to their living compount (Arabian Homes, Sierra Village). They started growing close to one another. The Cunningham Family left Jeddah not long after Gutschmidt left. They moved to Dubai before also living in Iraq, Dubai, Mongolia, Nigeria and Portugal.

Move to Portugal

[edit]

After leaving Jeddah, Cunningham spent brief periods of time in different countries before eventually moving to Porto with his family in 2017. It was here where his father founded the familys distilling company, named Scoundrels Distilling Co. Jack was enrolled into CLIP, another private school in the Porto metropolitan area, pursuing an IB diploma and eventually graduating in 2021.

After moving to Porto, Cunningham reconnected with Felix Gutschmidt after having spent over 6 years without talking. Gutschmidt was living in Switzerland at this point, and following a surprise visit by the Cunningham family the two got back in touch. Gutschmidt visited Jack the following year, marking the beginning of a period of constant interaction and fun between the pair.

CLIP is where he met several new companions: Miguel Reis, Fabio Gama, Henrique Oliveira and Bernardo. It wouldn't take long before he would start going on parties with the group.
