Issam Asinga, is a 18 years old male high-school student who has broken several American high school track records. Most notable is his record breaking 20.47 seconds in the 200 meter run.

He finished the year 2022-2023 ranked at U.S. No. 1 in the 55m, 60m, 200m; U.S. No. 2 in the 300m; and U.S. No. 27 in the 400m. This has all contributed to him winning the 2023 MileSplit50 athlete of the year.

His mother is Ngozi Mwanamwambwa Asinga, the first ever female athlete to participate for Zambia, and his dad is a Surinamese athlete that is now the owner of a veterinary hospital in Zambia.
