About
[edit]Karl Kalle Ingvar Gustafsson, aka Near Elite was born in 8th May 1990 at Trollhättan BB (in Sweden). Soon after his 15th birthday, he got his first own computer, as a confirmation-gift from his parents. The computer, and the Internet which followed, would forever change his lifestyle.
KG's could be described as a tall guy with glasses, mid-long darkbrown hair. He often wears Jeans.
KG is 16 ½ years and over 195cm tall. KG's interests is drawing, computers, games, movies, comics, Anime etc. NE is notorious for his great passion for Hot Anime Babes/Girls.
KG is the co-founder of Swentertain.
Career
[edit]Karl bought the FPS-game Half-Life 2 a few months after he'd got his computer, and after he cleared the game, he discovered Concerned, a web-comic based on the same game. After Karl had read the credits for that web-comic, he found out that it was created with a modification for HL2, called Garry's Mod. Karl found the modification, and downloaded it. And soon, 18th November 2005, Karl created his first comic with this mod, Countless-Strike.
Shortly afterwards, Karl heard about a forum called Facepunch Studios while he was playing on a Gmod-server online. Karl joined the Facepunch Studio's Forum (1st December 2005), with the nickname "Near Elite". The nick was directly taken from his nick on Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. The term "Near Elite" was based on Karl's skills in this game (HL2:DM).
Karl joined the forum because he heard that he could download useful stuff there for his new comics, but later he discovered that he could even post his own comics in that forum. Therefore, he created his second comic, Team Moron. The posting of this comic didn't went so good. In the first try, he linked his comic to his own computer, and the comic didn't show up. He tried again, but then the comic was accidently resized to an unreadable size. The third and the last try, it turned out better, but the comic was created with Paint, so the comic didn't received much great comments.
However, NE continued to create comics such as Team Moron, Dumbass, and Morning of the Dead. But the problem was that he still used Paint to edit his comics, and even if his comics became funnier, the editing was still horrible. NE downloaded the GIMP, a free program for image-editing. Now he could create a better layout and more basic editing. He created a few single comics with it, but he realized that he needs something more. The other comic-veterans used Photoshop, so NE decided to get that program.
NE was yet unused with Photoshop, so he created a few comics as practise. The first comic edited with Photoshop was Love, a spin-off from Dumbass. Then, NE started a new series called About. The first and the second issue was still not above average in quality. But the comic that would come next, would be the start of his first "official" comics. The other 'inofficial' comics would be nothing compared with the ones that would come now.
His first 'official' comic became About - cs_italy, a comic which made fun out of a map from Counter-Strike: Source. He received more good comments now. After a while, he started new series, and suddenly, NE became a more respected comic-creator.
NE is doing mostly comics, but he's also created non-serious movies. He's made two movies with Gmod. NE has also edited and created a large number of screenshots and photos.
