Dominic Casciato is an English soccer coach and former player. He is currently the manager for Union Omaha of USL League One, joining the team in January of 2023. Casciato's previous coaching experience includes stints as an assistant coach in NCAA college soccer, PDL, NPSL, NISA and the USL Championship. He's also served on coaching staffs in La Liga and the Danish Superliga.

Playing Career

[edit]

After finishing secondary school in England, Casciato played soccer for Limestone University in Gaffney, South Carolina, a member of NCAA Divison II. He became team captain starting his junior season, and finished the season with Second Team All-American, first-team all-conference and first-team all-region honors. He again earned first-team all-conference and all-region honors as a senior.

Coaching Career

[edit]

Casciato remained in the United States to begin his coaching career, primarily in the northeast, serving mostly as an assistant with the exception of serving as head coach of the Brooklyn Italians of the National Premier Soccer League. Outside of American soccer, he's also served as a youth coach for Espanyol and as an analyst for FC Midtjylland. He became an assistant coach for El Paso Locomotive in 2021, where he stayed for three seasons.

Casciato was named head coach of Union Omaha in January of 2023, his first professional managerial job. Union Omaha would win the USL League One Players' Shield in his first season, but lost to Charlotte Independence in the semifinals of the playoffs
