Javier Colon, better known as just Javier, is an American singer/songwriter, born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Javier's stylistic influences include R&B, Neo-soul, Pop, Funk, Soul, among others.

After graduating from the University of Hartford's Hartt School of Music in 2000, Javier served as a vocalist and percussionist in EmcQ, a soul/funk band led by lead guitarist Ian Mchugh. After a short stint with EmcQ, Javier was approached by Derek Trucks, founder of The Derek Trucks Band. Colon served as the band's lead singer and went on tour with them for a year and a half. In 2002, Javier decided to part ways with the band and pursue a solo career. About a year later, Javier recorded an EP and was ultimately signed by Capitol Records
