Hester Donnelly and Virginia H. McQueen—both members of the Wilmington Art Association--opened the Artists’ Gallery on Post Office Avenue. This space sowed the seed that became St. John’s Gallery of Art, which opened in April 1962.[1][ St. John’s was the forerunner of today’s Cameron Art Museum.[2]
