Turbo Swag is an American electronic music act originating from New York, United States consisting of Dylan Beyer and Michael Connery, who are best known for producing, Dubstep, House and Hip-Hop.[1]

History

[edit]

Mike and Dylan grew up together in Westchester, New York. They began playing Punk and Hardcore music together at the age of fifteen with Dylan on guitar, and Mike on drums. When they entered their respective colleges, they began to produce electronic music with Mike focusing on House and engineering, and Dylan on Dubstep and writing. Since college, the duo has been playing shows at various schools and clubs including Stony Brook University, University of Vermont, Syracuse University, SUNY Brockport, and Webster Hall. [2]

Turbo Swag's debut release was a bootleg remix of Soulja Boy's track, "Pretty Boy Swag"[3] in January of 2011 as part of their Winter 2011 EP. Since then they have released over 45 remixes, mashups, and original tracks mainly through YouTube. [4]

On October 28, 2011, Turbo Swag released their remix to Roscoe Dash's track "Good Good Night" on their Facebook page. This remix was met with praise from the blog world and on December 11, 2012, music blog Good Music All Day ranked Turbo Swag's remix to the track as one of the "Best Of November 13-19, 2011".[5]

Shortly following the release of their remix to "Good Good Night", Turbo Swag released a remix of the track "Dance (A$$)" on November 20, 2012. Music blog Great Music All Night said that "the illest remix of Big Sean's famous 'Dance A$$' is finally here. Must Download". [6]

On March 13, 2012 Turbo Swag released their album, Formal Attire on their Facebook page. This album was the second time Turbo Swag featured tracks with vocalist Sarah Miles. The track "City Lights", was released as a single with an accompanying music video.

On August 16, 2012 Turbo Swag released their latest EP, Rage Fuel. This EP, featuring their remix of Ca$h Out's track "Cashin' Out", was the duo's first time producing Trap Music.

Following the release of Rage Fuel, Turbo Swag was an opening act for Gym Class Heroes and Outasight at the homecoming concert at SUNY Brockport[7]
