From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clearing numbers (clearingnummer) are the domestic bank codes used to route money transfers between financial institutions in Sweden. The system is administered by the bankers' association Finance Sweden (formerly Swedish Bankers' Association).

Clearing numbers are 4 digits long with the exception for branches belonging to Swedbank that have 5 digits. For numbers starting with 1–6, the first one or two digits denote the bank group, and the rest the branch. For a list of Swedish bank codes, see lista över clearingnummer till svenska banker (in Swedish).
