The Vankeys are an Australian Punkabilly/Rock band. Forming in 2010 they have released one independent release titled 'Boring'.

History The Vankeys rose from the ashes of the rockabilly band The Rockerfellas. In 2010 the three members Michael Hegarty (Guitar and Vocals), Dean Gilboy (Drums) and Peder Jensen (Upright Bass) performed a limited amount of original music but mainly focused on traditional rockabilly music from artists such as Elvis, Johnny Cash and Eddie Cochran. In 2012 Peder Jensen left the group and Shaun Butcher was brought in to fill the bass position. The band was then renamed The Koffin Rockers. The group then began writing orginal music with a darker and heavier tone.

In 2013 the band released their first EP titled "These Guys'featuring 5 original songs. With the support of the EP the band begin touring the east coast of Australia, performing at festivals such as Greasefest and Cooly Rocks On.

In 2016 the band released their second EP titled "Dead End' featuring another 5 original songs. Building on the support of the first EP the band continued playing festivals including Towers Rocks, Stanthorpe Rocks, Stones Corner Festival and Autumnfest.

in 2017 the band entered the studio again to record a 5 track covers EP titled 'Factory Standard VK Commodore Audio Cassette'. This EP showcased the evolving sound of the band and landed them supports with The Screaming Jets, Nekromantix, The Creepshow, The Resignators and Strung Out.

In 2018 the band landed a spot on the Hotter Than Hell tour along side Grinspoon, Killing Heidi, Eskimo Joe, The Superjesus and Jebediah. Later in 2018 saw the group undertake their first headlining European tour with veteran band The Caravans.

Upon their return the band decided to evolve by changing their name yet again to 'The Vankeys'. This change coincided with the 2019 release of the bands first full length release titled 'Boring'. A 15 track album that displayed the writing potential and diversity of the group.

In 2019 The Vankeys hit the road with Ska/Punk heavy weights Area-7 and perform at the Stones Corner Festival in Brisbane along side Jebediah, Area-7, Darren Middleton (Powderfinger) and The Cheap Fakes.
