Mira Oubliette, or Mira, is a female Homo sapiens sapiens of undisclosed age. In order to preserve NPOV, Mira often refers to herself in the third person. While Mira was named after Mira, the two are not to be confused.
Mira is a fourth generation American of German and Swiss ancestry. Her German ancestors did not teach their American-born descendants any German due to hostilities towards Americans with German ancestry during both WWI and WWII. Other ancestries include Scottish, Irish, Norse, and Czech.
Mira is the Latin feminine nominative form of "mirabilis" which means "astonishing" or "wonderful". This is the basis for the modern English word "miracle".
Oubliette is a French noun based on the verb "oublier", which means "to forget". The -ette suffix indicates a diminutive form of the base word. Therefore "oubliette" means "a little place to forget", which in modern usage refers to a type of dungeon that can only be accessed by a small door or hatch from high above.
Mira was a frequent user of Wikipedia before creating a user account. Since she accessed Wikipedia from multiple locations, editing without an account would have resulted in multiple IP addresses. Once she created her account, she became a stealth contributor who corrected grammar and typos when found. Soon, she began adding citations in articles when needed and was able to find a reliable source. She is still learning to be bold, although it is becoming easier as time passes (and as she learns more Wiki markup).
After spending a marathon 72 hour session editing pages in her namespace, using pages as sandboxes, Mira found it much easier to be bold. The first article Mira made significant changes to was Theta1 Orionis A, and is working on creating the page Theta1 Orionis B. The next page she plans on creating is Theta1 Orionis D.
This list is subject to change, especially as drafts of articles are moved to the Article namespace.
- Theta 1 Orionis D
- Theta 1 Orionis E - is is notable enough to warrant a page of its own? Visible with moderate to high-end amateur optical telescopes and easily visible in IR due to a dense dust cloud, unlike A-D. Where was that source...
- Family of choice - article doesn't exist and is becoming increasing important in societies where increased geographic mobility, rejection of an individual because of LGBT status, past abuse by a family member, or other factors.
Soon after creating this page, Mira discovered userboxes. She may or may not have too many of them.
