Author's note: In all great men there is jealousy towards them. Sometimes scholars will go to extreme troubles to prove their favorite man in history gay. Well, if I ever grow to be famous, I have saved those scholars the trouble. (Note: this was fun, not serious. I am certainly not gay. You won't find me chasing after Tom Cruise any time soon)
Sonnet 69
No man hath loved me the way that you do,
And no man hath ever taught me true love,
For none could see into my heart but you --
Into my deepest, darkest cave you dove.
Someday time may part us; the thought makes me
Zany, having no more places to go.
Kindness you've showed me, and servanthood sweet --
In your arms is the one safe place I know.
Heaven must've been shining when you came,
Angels sounding trumpets about your birth;
And o my heart jumped heard I first your name --
More than gold or silver is your fine worth.
I know that for your life mine I would give,
Defeating all pain so that you may live.
