I have a PhD in American Studies; a degree in which I studied in three disciplines: English, history, and religious studies. The concentration for my undergraduate work was public policy analysis and communication. Currently, I am a Professor of English and History at a community college.

I use Wikipedia a great deal in working with my students and often notice minor edits that could improve articles. I decided to register so that I could help with those edits. As I have become more comfortable as an editor, I have been adding information to expand articles to make them more useful.

My editing is currently not focused on any one area. Instead, much of it is influenced by topics I am currently teaching or on subjects on which my students are doing their research.
