The Sabrina Scale
The Sabrina Scale is a rough non scientific method of measurement within the highly provocative mental health area of Parental Alienation or DSM-5 V61.20 Parent-Child Relational Problem. The scale created by divorce expert (Divorce Mediator, New Hampshire Guardian Ad Litem, Massachusetts Family and Probate Court Co-Parenting Educator Michael Paolino (2005) demonstrates the level of negative response of an aledged alienated child versus the actual conditions of the response. The data is typically collected during psychological forensic interviewing or in a therapy intake or evaluation process of the child. The level of parental rejection measured one through five matched against the actual proclaimed behavior of the rejected parent also one through five to determine if they are congruent or how mismatched the negative response of the child actually is. The two numbers in contrast can be a rough guide to determine if there is an obvious unbalance to suspect the possiblity of parental alienation or a Parent-Child Relational Problem.
