Orphaned non-free image (File:Evianlogo.jpg)

You've uploaded File:Evianlogo.jpg, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:06, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

WP:FILMS Questionnaire

As a member of WikiProject Films, you are invited to take part in the project's first questionnaire. It is intended to gauge your participation and views on the project. At the conclusion of the questionnaire, the project's coordinators will use the gathered feedback to find new ways to improve the project and reach out to potential members. The results of the questionnaire will be published in next month's newsletter. If you know of any editors who have edited film articles in the past, please invite them to take part in the questionnaire. Please stop by and take a few minutes to answer the questions so that we can continue to improve our project. Happy editing!

Orphaned non-free media (File:ComedyFestival07.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:ComedyFestival07.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:09, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

WP:FILMS Coordinator nominations

WP:FILMS Coordinator Election

Hi all, it's Meetup time again :-) - Hopefully you'll be up for meeting on April 22nd at about 6pm at The Paragon, a pub in Circular Quay. It'll be the usual round of drinks and chit chats, with no particular agenda, just some friendly faces, and a shared interest in Wiki stuff. If you've thought about coming along before, but haven't made it - we'd love to see you - it'll be a relaxed, social chin wag about all things wiki - bring anyone along you fancy, and I hope you can make it :-)

Please do sign up on the meetup page, and do also feel free to nominate an alternative time / date / location if for whatever reason the 21st doesn't work for you - we're an accommodating bunch :-) cheers, Privatemusings (talk) 04:11, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

I have conducted a reassessment of this article as part of the GA Sweeps process. I have found some concerns which are listed at Talk:Australian Secret Intelligence Service/GA1. If these concerns are not addressed in seven days, the article may be delisted. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 16:09, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Note

Just as a point of note, the use of the placeholder image for biographies isn't widely used anymore. If you'll look at the link to the file, there was discussion that mostly agreed that placeholder images wouldn't be used. Thanks. Wildhartlivie (talk) 04:09, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

TV categories problem

Hi Mike, I wanted to leave a note about your recent creation and categorisation of Australian TV program debut categories. For example, with NCIS: Los Angeles, you categorised it in the 2010 debut cat. This is inappropriate because we categorise debuts by their originating country, if such specific categorisation is even necessary. I would strongly recommend going back through those Australian categories and removing anything that isn't purely Australian in origin (such as the aforementioned NCIS:LA, and the Cleveland Show). If you have any questions, leave me a note. Cheers. Huntster (t@c) 02:25, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Sydney Meetup

I think you may have been notified by email, but I thought it was worth my dropping in a note anywhoo, to let you know that Sydney Wikipedians are having a meetup this coming Tuesday, the 4th August. As you'll see on that page, we have two folk flying in from the Wikimedia Foundation who will be attending, and we have a great crowd of wiki types signed up to come along.

If you've never been to a meetup before, this wouldn't be a bad one to kick off with (we're all very friendly, interesting, and great looking folk ;-), and if you have, well come along again, why don't ya! If you've any questions you can flick the aussie mailing list an email on wikimediaau-l@lists.wikimedia.org aussie mailing list, or drop me a note on my talk page. Hope to see some of you there!

ps. If you've already signed up, and received an email, and a phone call, and a door knock, and are getting a bit frustrated with constant advances from enthusiastic australian wiki types, then I'm told you can print this message, and bring it along to use as a 'free beer' voucher, redeemable by our esteemed Vice-President of WMAU on the night...... ;-) Privatemusings (talk) 22:06, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Kristinakeneally.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Kristinakeneally.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bidgee (talk) 07:22, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

Your last automatic reversal was incorrect

Really, it is marketing aggrandisement language to refer to someone as "a radio and TV personality".

Radio presenter is a more precise, impartial term for the profile and occupation of the person described in this article. Which, as it happens, is how his employer Austereo refers to Kyle Sandilands at their web site. I'll not bother with re-applying the edit but, if you care to, you might want to take the nuances on board and reverse your reversal.

More broadly, the logic flow whilst reading through the main article is pretty dreadful. I've spent some effort just now to fix this up by re-using the existing material according to wikipedia's rules.

However, now I know you'll just reverse everything submitted, I'm clear to just dump the new, clearer text I was about to submit? No point in anyone else but you bothering to submit contributions to these articles again really, is there? Delete. There it goes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.106.146.134 (talk) 07:28, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi all,

It's meetup time again in Sydney - hopefully you'll be able to come along for friendly chat and drinks about all things wiki - topics will no doubt include the Chapter - perhaps with planning for the upcoming AGM, the general state of wiki-play, and the traditional candle lighting to encourage the mythical flagged-revisions extension to make its way on to the wiki. At this point, I usually mention that sitting wiki arbitrators are compelled to buy everyone a drink, but one of our number has taken a rather extreme route in avoiding this duty - if you have no idea what I'm talking about then you're probably busy writing and maintaining articles - but come along anyways on the 21st October, from 18.30 til late, to find out :-) cheers, Privatemusings (talk) 21:32, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Maynard page

Hi. I'm doing my first wikipedia edit on the Maynard page.

I was a volunteer at 2NUR-FM from 1985 when Maynard started Radio Stupid. My memories of him was breaking all of the rules that I was learning. But as the Station Manager pointed out to me, Maynard could break those rules for 2 reasons: 1. permission had been granted and 2. he was good. I used to listen every week and I think that I still have some tapes.

The point I was trying to make was that he had a lot of talents well before he started at JJJ.

I was too young and too law-abiding to go to Castanet Club or Giddy People gigs, so I only saw them once live.

I haven't used his real name. It is shown on some websites. But unlike Steve Abbott, Maynard has consistently used his stage name since the mid 1980's.

WP:FILMS' Tag & Assess Drive and Roll Call

File source problem with File:Passionahighposter.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Passionahighposter.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:42, 12 November 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 06:42, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
