The "icon corner" is a concept I've been experimenting with as a Wikipedia userpage format. The goal is to duplicate the characteristics of userboxes in a more concise format. The current design of my page is a prototype, but shows several of the main features.

• The Userpage Table of Contents, a derivative of Template:Userpage, and the "icon corner" should display in an approximate horizontal row at the top of the page. In accordance with the Wikipedia article on Icon corners, the box appears at the top right of a page ;) *

• The "icon corner" includes only the square graphic (usually an image file) typically found at the left of each userbox.

• The imagemap tag is used to allow the icon to link directly to a target page. For now, these are the template pages listed in userbox collections, but because these links are more accessible than those for userboxes this might change.

• The "icon corner" can be implemented as a table of standard squares. Alternatively, a single graphic could be used and divided up with the imagemap tag. The second option allows a more chaotic organization; the first should allow the component squares to be implemented as templates.

• One possible expansion is that eventually each Icon could be linked directly to a separate "Clubhouse" page with resources for people interested in having that Icon on their user pages. As proof of principle, see User:Mike Serfas/Club/Biologist.
