Introduction
[edit]Freewheeling is a Linux music looping program.
Quick start
[edit]Tab: Switch loop entry mode (qwerty, midi keyboard...)
Key: Start record a loop on this "key", then stop the recording. Subsequent presses play this "key" loop at the volume defined by the velocity of the "key" (n/a for qwerty mode).
Space + Key: erase the "key" loop.
F1: Set the sync (pulse) to the loop that was just recorded for future loops. Other loops can be longer (by an even multiple) of the sync pulse.
F2: Tap tempo for sync pulse.
F11: Toggle metronome click.
MIDI Footswitch (sustain): In midi keyboard mode (switched with tab key), the footswitch can be used to record a loop. After recording, the yellow "x" appears at the bottom of the screen showing that a loop is waiting to be transfered (x-fer) to another loop location. The loop can be transfered by pressing another loop key.
Ins/Del: Adjust all inputs volume level.
Up/Down + [1-4]: adjust 1 input volume level.
Home/End: Adjust output level.
Enter: Default output level.
z/x: Switch which octave is used for storing the loops in MIDI keyboard mode. This feature is like switching banks.
Loop renaming
[edit]Ctrl click on loop region, type a name, enter.
Scenes
[edit]b: Switch from fluidsynth to loop browser, to scene browser, +/- scroll to select loops, enter to select.
F7: Save scene.
+/-: Browser scene.
