Mike Commito (BA, MA) is a Canadian historian. He is currently completing his doctorate at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. His current research focuses on the history of wildlife management , notably black bears, wolves, and deer, in Ontario and New York State. He previously completed his Masters at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada under the tutelage of Dr. Mark Kuhlberg. The thesis, " 'The biggest, blackest graveyard:' A Socioeconomic History of the Mississagi Fire and Salvage, 1948-1973" is the first comprehensive study of Ontario's most destructive forest fire and extensive timber salvage operation.
