The Ridgeway - Oxfordshire

[edit]

The Ridgeway is part of the ancient road called the Icknield way thought to be one of the great highways established before the Norman invasion. The Icknield Way stretches from East Anglia to the West Country.

The Ridgeway is an excellent place to take youngsters new to the outdoors. Its vantage over Oxfordshire makes for good views to teach map reading, while it's smooth hard surface makes for easy walking and removes any need for navigation.[1]
