Maxwell B. Cutamora also known as "wawa" (born September 04, 1988) is a a registered Nurse [1]and Ubran Planner/Environmental planner[2] and prominent public figure in Ubay known for his contributions to local governance, Environmental and development planning, and disaster risk management in the Philippines. Recognized for his leadership and dedication to public service, he has been instrumental in fostering sustainable development and improving public financial management in his community. Early Life and Education
Maxwell Bandoy Cutamora was born in September 04, 1988, and the youngest among four children. His father is a Public Servant and his mother is a Housewife.
Wawa graduated at Lomangog Elementary School in 2001 with Honor and at Ubay National Science High School in 2005. In college, she completed her Bachelor of Science In Nursing at Holy Name University in 2009 and received award for being the College of Nursing Governor. He is the Batchmate of Maria Vanessa Aumentado, the representative of the 2nd district of Bohol.[3]
He successfully passed the Licensure Board Exams for Nurses in July 2009.
She became a Review Attendance at the Powerhouse Training and Review Center in Tagbilaran City in 2009-2011 and employed in the Department of Health RN Heals Program in 2011-2013 prior his employment in the Local Government Unit of Ubay.[4]
He married Venice Lyra Tuñacao a registered Nurse from neighboring town of Guindulman, Bohol on February 6, 2016 to whom they have 2 children.
He passed the licensure examination for Environmental Planners in 2018 and currently pursuing his master's degree in Public Management at Northwest Samar State University.[5]
Public Service Career
Maxwell B. Cutamora has served in various significant capacities in local governance. As a Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, he played a key role in the formulation of critical development plans, including the Climate Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA) and the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP)[6]. His work focuses on spatial land use strategies that promote sustainable and climate-resilient development.
He also served as a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (DRRMO), where he led efforts in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. His tenure as DRRMO included overseeing the successful registration of the local DRRM office with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and contributing to the community’s receipt of awards such as the Gawad Kalasag.[7]

Private Inventor: He invented a prototype solar powered audio alarm that used a GSM controller in enhancing Early Warning System in his community. [8]
SGLG Award: Under his guidance, Ubay was validated and passed for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG)in 2024, passing all ten criteria.[9]
Development Projects: He contributed to the establishment of essential infrastructure projects, including power plants and commercial institutions. [10]
Public Financial Management: Maxwell emphasized the importance of financial accountability, a key criterion for the SGLG assessment.
Disaster Management: He was pivotal in the creation of the Local Climate Change Action Plan (LCCAP), strengthening the municipality’s resilience against climate-related risks.
