Miss Venezuela 1960 was the seventh Miss Venezuela pageant. It was held at the Tamanaco Intercontinental Hotel in Caracas, Venezuela on July 30, 1960.

At the end of the event, Ida Margarita Pieri of Sucre crowned Gladys Ascanio of Distrito Federal as Miss Venezuela 1960. She represented Venezuela at the Miss International 1960 pageant placing in the Top 15.

Since the Miss Venezuela pageant was held a few days after the Miss Universe 1960, the organizer of the contest, Reinaldo Espinoza Hernández, selected Mary Quiróz Delgado - Miss Yaracuy 1957 - as the country's representative in said edition.

Selection of participants

Chumico Romero of Amazonas was the first representative to be born in the state, specifically in Parima-Unturan, a remote hamlet of the then Federal Territory; years later Chumico stood out as an actress in various telenovelas on Venevisión. On the other hand, Gladys Tapia Angulo from Barinas was the aunt of María Xavier -Maye- Brandt Angulo, Miss Venezuela 1980.

Miss Anzoátegui, Gladys Boccardo and Miss Carabobo, Sonia González, withdrew from the competition due to undisclosed reasons.
