User:Matthias Fischer
My real name is Matt Fisher. After reading the article on Wikipedia's lamest edit wars of all time, I felt compelled to seek the Guinness record for the longest uninterrupted string of unreverted, incontestable, and frankly, boring but correct edits.
This campaign was launched in February, 2010, and will last as long as I find it to be a sufficiently absurd but attainable goal in life. I am, after all, too old and clumsy to become a professional boxer, and must use my talents as given.
At times, I wonder why I would bother contributing to a project which scrupulously maintains a set of consensus-based notability guidelines for pornography actors. The very existence of those guidelines implies that this base category of person is baselessly added to Wikipedia much more frequently than others. The validity of a loosely governing consensus reached by desensitized subject matter experts is dubious, if not ludicrous.
With a sufficiently fervent will to remain optimistic in the face of mere facts, I might convince myself that the "concensors" in this subject area are attempting to limit the impact of our native vulgarity on Wikipedia. As God's cat-loving Rottweiler might say, this is "a first step in the direction of a moralisation, a first assumption of responsibility, on the way toward recovering an awareness that not everything is allowed and that one cannot do whatever one wants."
In more clearheaded moments, I see that the editorial concern is rather to prevent "the good stuff" from getting lost in the noise. It exacerbates the problem, but this is a battle which I am admonished by guideline to conduct elsewhere.
Therefore, as far as Wikipedia is concerned, I must remain the innocuous alter ego for that mighty superhero, L'Apostrophe -- and steer clear of the Augean stables which occur here and there within this otherwise noble encyclopedia. I find it encouraging that with diligence, perserverance, and love, a truly "not notable" person like myself might have his objectively valid touch-up work read by innumerable others.
