History

[edit]

Glasses.com was created when the makers of 1-800 CONTACTS, Inc. (a subsidiary of Wellpoint, Inc.) purchased the URL for the website with the intention of improving the eyeglass shopping experience.

Technical innovation

[edit]

[edit]

Glasses.com operates in two sectors: manufacturing & wholesale distribution and retail distribution. The house brands include the following, which are sold in the company's online store.

Glasses.com has received:

•    The 2014 Cannes Lions Award[1] for advancing virtual try-on technology.
