[edit]Hello, I'm Marlene M and I'm based in a seaside town in south Wales alongside the Bristol Channel, although I was born 20 miles or so inland in the Welsh mountains. I've lived and worked in this region of Wales all of my adult life.
About me
[edit]I am a retired accountant, but have spent the majority of my working life building-up a large electrical installations company with my former husband. My role in this company was heading-up the accounts and bookkeeping departments as well as playing an active part in recruitment and managing other general aspects of the company.
During the latter years of my working life, I began an active interest in the financial markets, taking several courses while building up a library of trading and investment books. Since retiring, trading has become an active hobby.
When trading, I focus on the futures markets (usually bonds, stock market indices and liquid currency futures). I also trade on occasions the cash forex markets.
I work from home in a studio office specifically set up for this activity. It is also a room where I can relax, read, and increase my education.
Other interests
[edit]- I volunteer one day a week at a nearby medical centre where I organise and manage the day's treatments.
- I enjoy hiking locally in the mountains and am an active gym member. I also take regular classes in Pilates and yoga.
- I am an avid reader of fiction and enjoy authors such as Anita Brookner.
- I am an enthusiastic dancer and participate in a wide range of classes from salsa and contemporary Latin American to traditional ballroom.
