From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tax Credit & Government Incentive Group (also known as "TC GIG") administers tax credits and government incentives in the United States. [Tax credits], also known as a [tax incentives], from a business sense, are conceptually interpreted to increase economic development, preserve natural resources, and encourage certain corporate behavior. An example includes the recent hiring credit proposed by the US Federal Government. [1] Government Incentives refer to reimbursements, grants, and specials loans or funding opportunities as well. Incentive legislation is conducted by local, state, and federal agencies.

TC GIG Business Services

[edit]
TC GIG facilitates the relationship between the government and the client, "business officer", usually including a tax professional [CPA]. Services include local, state, and federal programs.
Local Level Programs
Local programs are implemented to bring in new business and support existing business. This includes environmental behavior, employment behavior, and can become as detailed as internal processes or building renovation. Austin, Texas offers a Redevelopment Program in addition to Small Business Development and Emerging Technology programs.[2]
State Level Programs
State programs are put in place to encourage development at the state level, bringing in new businesses and residents while strengthening current businesses and/or residents. An example of a state program incentive, known as a tax credit, is the California Enterprise Zone (CAEZ) administered, in addition to other programs, by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD)[3] An example of another state program incentive, known as a reimbursement rather than a tax credit, is the training grant administered by the California Employment Training Panel (ETP).[4]
Federal Level Programs
An Inclusion to the Economic Stimulus Act 2009, also known as the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, proposed by the 2009 US President Barack Obama, is the addition of two new categories for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit Program.[5] An earlier attempt at increasing employment throughout America is known as Federal Empowerment Zones (FEDEZ) and Federal Renewal Communities (FEDRC), administered and evaluated by the US Department of Housing and Community Development (HUD), in the office of Homes & Communities.[6]
